Green Beans – Lettuce, tomatoes, spinach or any leafy vegetables can be substituted for green beans.
Banana – You can substitute different fruits for a banana. You can have two kiwis, 1 cup of papaya, two apricots, grapes, apple sauce.
Meat – For the vegetarians, you can have tofu, beans, and lentils to get the perfect military diet substitutions.
Carrot – Squash, beets, parsnip, bell pepper and celery can be taken instead of carrot.

Saltine Crackers – For the 3 day military diet, rice cake matched as a perfect substitution but you should ensure that the calories remain the same.
